According to mobilegamer.biz, all 6 ironSource founders will leave Unity within the next 6 months. This is according to Mobilegamer, which has seen a letter from Unity’s interim CEO Jim Whitehurst to the company’s employees. Following their resignation, there will be a staff reshuffle in Unity’s management team.

  • Unity Create president Marc Whitten will take over as Unity Create’s director of product and technology.
  • Felix Thé, senior vice president of product and development in the advertising division, will become senior vice president of product and technology at Unity Grow.
  • Nadav Ashkenazy, vice president of Supersonic, a subsidiary of Unity, will be promoted to senior vice president and chief revenue officer of Unity Grow.
  • ironSource Aura executive vice president of sales Giancarlo Fasolo will be promoted to senior vice president of ironSource Aura.

Whitehurst said the changes will help “bring the people and culture of old Unity and old ironSource much closer together.” They will also make it easier to run the company.

We now have a great opportunity to achieve even greater success for our customers by eliminating one layer of general management and moving to a flatter and more functional structure. This kind of change is not only structural but also cultural. We all need to come together and think carefully about what kind of team we want to be in order to reach our full potential. We will soon be launching an initiative to rethink our mission, values and behaviors.

Jim Whitehurst, Interim CEO at Unity

Mobilegamer also noticed that on January 8, one of the ironSource founders Tomer Bar-Zeev sold 37.5 thousand shares of Unity for the amount of $1.4 million.

IronSource officially joined Unity in November 2022. The value of the deal was estimated at $4.4 billion.

The departure of ironSource founders and other upcoming reshuffles in Unity’s management became known soon after the news about the dismissal of 25% of the company’s staff – 1800 people. This is the largest round of layoffs in Unity’s history.
