Microsoft reported for the second quarter of fiscal 2024 (October- December 2023). This is the first report since the purchase of Activision Blizzard. We will tell you about the results of the corporation’s gaming division.
- Revenue for the entire division reached $7.1 billion, up 49% year-on-year. First, Activision Blizzard should be thanked for the growth – without considering its indicators, the growth is only 5%.
- Activision Blizzard’s revenue amounted to $2.08 billion. How it was distributed between Activision Blizzard Entertainment and King is not reported. The company’s operating loss is $437 million.
- Revenue from game content and services sales grew 61%, with Activision Blizzard responsible for 55% of the growth.
- Revenue from console sales grew 3%.
- The monthly active console, PC, and mobile game users reached record levels. MAU of mobile games alone exceeded 200 million people.
- Xbox Cloud Gaming users spent 44% more hours playing games than last year.
- Microsoft estimated the purchase of Activision Blizzard to be $75.4 billion. It was assumed that it would pay much less for the company – $68.7 billion.
