SocialPeta has published a new report reviewing mobile app marketing trends as of early 2023. Almost 93% of advertisers used new marketing creatives in the first quarter.

A side note: The most successful mobile games in Q1 2023

There are 7.8 million new creatives in the mobile app market – about 67% of the total. Similarly, the number of creations in the casual genre increased by 12.33% YoY. Casual games account for 32.68% of all creatives. Puzzles (12.12%, down 1.91% YoY) and RPGs (9.01%, down 2.02% YoY) follow.

At the same time, the total number of advertisers in different genres has also grown:

  • in the casual genre an increase of 2.29% YoY
  • in the puzzles genre the figure increased by 0.26% YoY
  • the simulation genre saw a drop of 0.02%, but the percentage placed simulation in third position

In the first quarter of 2023 the share of Android advertisers increased sharply to 69.69%, but the share of iOS advertisers fell from 38% at the end of last year to 30.31% at the beginning of 2023.

In the first quarter of 2023, 82.97% of all creatives are video; 13.56% are images; 2.17% are playable; and 1.3% are other type. And from the same period in 2022, the number of views of both video creations and images is declining.
