China has the largest mobile market in the world, and there’s a reason for that. The country enforced an extended ban on console sales, which has allowed mobile gaming to flourish without competition. This is why most of the country’s foremost gaming companies have been dedicated to mobile gaming, as reported by PocketGamer.biz.

According to a recent report by PocketGamer.biz, China has continued to dominate the mobile gaming industry. In July 2023, 37 out of the top 100 mobile game publishers were from China, but in August, this number increased to 40. The top three publishers were Tencent, NetEase, and miHoYo, all from China. These 40 publishers collectively generated $2.07 billion, 39.3% of the total revenue.

miHoYo’s revenue increased by 16.7%, driven by a 29% month-on-month increase in revenue for Honkai: Star Rail.
