Circana has published a report on the U.S. Gaming Market for November 2023. According to the report, the market earned $5.9 billion. That’s a 7% drop from a year earlier.

  • The drop was due to a 3% sag in-game sales and a 24% in console sales (to $964 million).
  • Despite the drop, the PlayStation 5 is the best-selling console of the month, in second place in the Xbox Series.
  • PlayStation Portal started at #4 on the console sales charts. The accessory was available in limited quantities.
  • Nintendo Switch’s cumulative sales in the U.S. have surpassed the Xbox 360. The console is now second only to the Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2 in sales.
  • Total console sales are down 1%, compared to the same period in 2022 (January through November).
  • As of the end of November, the U.S. gaming market is 1% ahead of 2022.
  • Sales of games for consoles and handheld systems fell 11%. However, revenue from mobile platforms, subscriptions, and PC content grew by 3%.
  • Mobile revenue in the U.S. was up 2.6% year-over-year in November. The leaders are Monopoly GO!, Royal Match, and Roblox.
