Tencent continues to buy up European companies. It became known about the deal between Lightspeed Studios, a division of Tencent, and Lucid Games from Liverpool, according to Game Developer.

Lucid Games announced in its official Twitter profile the other day that it is now part of the family. The studio noted that it retained full independence in game creation and operations there.

At the same time, the studio is confident that the new owner will receive both support in terms of the technology stack and work with the global network.

It is not reported how much Lucid Games cost the Chinese company and on what terms it joined its portfolio of assets.

Lucid Games is primarily known as the car arcade Destruction AllStars developer, released two years ago as an exclusive for PlayStation 5. It also helped develop Sea of Thieves, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

As for Lightspeed, it is now positioned by Tencent as a co-developer of PUBG Mobile. The company was also responsible for the development of the canceled Apex Legends Mobile.
