Australian studio Samurai Punk has announced its closure. It has disbanded the entire team, but has promised to continue supporting games for the foreseeable future.

Samurai Punk opened in 2014 at a time when jobs were scarce in Australia. We had two options: start a company or move overseas and look for work there. Since then we’ve grown a lot as developers and learned a lot about what we want as people working on games. After analyzing everything, we realized it was time to part ways and set out on new adventures.

Statement of Samurai Punk

The company has 9 games in its portfolio. The last one was KILLBUG, a shooter about bloodthirsty insects, released in May 2023. The studio also has such titles as Feather, The American Dream and Screencheat.
