The Slovak Game Developers Association (SGDA) has released a report on Slovakia’s gaming industry. The top five earning companies were Pixel Federation, SuperScale, Inlogic Software, PowerPlay Studio, and Nine Rocks Games. According to its data, local game companies earned a total of €77.1 million in 2022.
At the end of last year, there were 66 gaming companies in Slovakia. They employed 1,080 people.
48.5% of Slovak companies have employees from other countries. Most foreigners come from the Czech Republic – 39.7%. There are also many employees from Ukraine (13.8%), Great Britain (12.1%), Russia (6.9%), the USA (3.5%), Serbia (3.5%), and Vietnam (3.5%).
PC is the most popular development platform in the country. It is chosen by 72.7% of companies. 31.8% of studios make games for mobile, 10.6% each for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, and 9.1% each for Xbox consoles and VR/AR headsets.
