Royal Match by Dream Games is well on its way to becoming one of the most successful mobile games in the Match-3 genre. Last month, for the first time, it collected more revenue and downloads than the hit Candy Crush Saga.
According to analyst firm Sensor Tower calculations, the game earned $112 million with 14.6 million downloads in July, compared to Candy Crush Saga’s $104 million with 14.4 million downloads.
According to analysts, there are at least two reasons for this:
- The game aggressive strategy of attracting users through traffic acquisition. 61.5% of downloads came from players who clicked on ads. Candy Crush Saga has similar downloads of 15.4%-25%;
- Royal Match authors are constantly releasing new content. Since September 2022, the developers have added over a hundred levels to the game every month. Royal Match has also recently introduced a season pass and Royal Match’s Hidden Temple mini-game.
Candy Crush Saga leads in terms of daily active players so far. Its DAU is 18 million, while RM DAU is 15 million. However, Sensor Tower believes this will change by the end of October.
