NetEase has released its financial report for the second quarter of 2023, which ended June 30. According to the report, the company’s net revenue totaled $3.3 billion, up 3.7% year-over-year.

NetEase’s highest earning division was its gaming division. Its net revenue reached $2.6 billion, up 3.6% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2022. Mobile games generated 73.6% of the gaming division’s revenue.

NetEase said it was pleased with the performance of its new games. In June alone, it released three successful projects: Justice Mobile, Racing Master, and Badlanders. All of them hit the top of the Chinese App Store shortly after release, with Justice Mobile and Racing Master at the box office top and Badlanders at the top in downloads. NetEase did not specify how much the games earned. According to AppMagic, in its debut week, Justice Mobile earned $6.8 million from IAP with 2.3 million downloads, Racing Master earned $2.4 million with 2 million downloads, and Badlanders earned $65,000 with 401,000 downloads.

Also in late June, NetEase and Warner Bros. Games published the mobile card game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened outside of China. According to AppMagic, the global version of the game earned $2.3 million from IAPs in its first week.
