Utomik announced the release of the company’s cloud gaming service on mobile devices with an Android release. Utomik boasts a catalogue of indie games and other products unavailable on other services.

Today the platform is only available in America and Europe. Still, a release for mobile devices is an ambitious move into a market dominated by major companies such as Microsoft, Sony and Nvidia.

Side note: Ubisoft will focus on mobile games.

For years, the company has been working to make games more straightforward and accessible. First, by saving people from investing in powerful but expensive hardware, and now by turning mobile devices into gaming platforms with Utomik Cloud. The company is proud of its achievements and looks forward to seeing how users benefit from its hard work.

The company has an uphill battle against Nvidia GeForce NOW, Xbox Game Pass and Playstation Plus, but Utomik has its niche. Most games in the catalogue consist of products from small studios and developers that haven’t made it to the extensive cloud gaming services.

For some users, the appeal of Call of Duty, God of War or The Last of Us isn’t enough to use cloud services. But the ability to play primarily PC-only games on any device will appeal to those who don’t want to splurge on a gaming laptop or other device.

Several services have stepped in to compete with cloud gaming, competing with major platforms. Caregame, for example, has emphasized a desire to make games more accessible and functional. But it remains to be seen whether this will be a new phase for mobile gaming and the industry.
