Gematsu announces that China’s Tencent has bought a 20% stake in SHIFT UP, the Korean studio that created the mobile games Destiny Child and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

Today, the company is SHIFT UP’s second-largest shareholder. Only studio founder Kim Hyung Tae owns more shares.

Tencent subsidiary Level Infinite is the global publisher of the sci-fi role-playing shooter Goddess of Victory: Nikke, which was released on iOS and Android on November 4, 2022.

Side note: Goddess of Victory: Nikke reached 100 million in one month.

Stellar Blade’s upcoming game will be released for PlayStation 5 in 2023 and will be a post-apocalyptic action game.

The amount of the deal has not been disclosed.
