Newzoo, an analytics company in the gaming industry, has released the «Global Games Market Report 2022» report on the global volume of the mobile gaming industry in 2022. The amount of revenue will be $103.5 billion.
In a report published by Newzoo, the global growth rate is expected to be 2.1%. This is in line with projections that the number of gamers will reach 3.5 billion by 2025, up 600 million from 2.9 billion in 2020.
The reason for this growth is mobile, which will bring in $103.5 billion this year, representing 53% of the market.

The territories where the mobile markets lead will see intense growth: the Middle East and Africa at 10.8% and Latin America at 6.9%. The North American gaming market is projected to grow by 0.5%, and the European market is projected to contract by 0.3%.
The PC gaming market also showed growth of 1.6%, and console games declined by 2.2%, but a sharp decline in the global gaming industry will help avoid the strong growth of the mobile market.

Mobile games VS consoles
The forecast shows that the gaming market will continue to grow in the coming years, reaching $225.7 billion by 2025. This indicates healthy growth in the current economic environment, even with a reduced rate relative to the figures during the pandemic.
The report also points to supply chain problems and changed operating conditions that have led to the postponement of game releases whose creation began during the pandemic.
The mobile sector has avoided such problems because of accelerated development timelines and less stringent technical requirements for games, so growth is more robust compared to other platforms.
Newzoo predicts the console market will grow by 2025. This is due to both the easing of supply problems and the release of games postponed to 2023 and 2024, which will strengthen the sustainability of the gaming market.
