Chinese gaming giant NetEase will add a ChatGPT analogue, adapted for the gaming environment, to its new Justice Online Mobile project. In this way, players will be able to have conversations that are close to real-life and influence the decisions of the characters.

A side note: NetEase has launched Spliced Inc.

The dialogue system will be designed so that each decision made can return to the main character with a “butterfly effect“, and secondary characters when interacting with the player will refer to the dialogues which took place earlier and dynamically operate between the past and the present.

In addition, NPCs will also use this system when communicating with each other, which, in theory, could lead to a completely random dialogue ending and further developments. The player will also be able to enter lines not only using the keyboard, but also using their own voice.

NetEase’s adaptation of ChatGPT was trained on history books, martial arts books, poems and songs. For now, the company only intends to use it for more realism in relation to NPCs, but in the future it plans to use AI to generate most of the content for games. Justice Online Mobile, which will be released in 2023, will support mobile ray tracing technology, among other things.
