MicroBuddies is excited to announce that the NFT strategy game has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) into their NFT traits system to randomly assign traits to the game’ NFTs.

By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, the company now has access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to help determine the traits of MicroBuddies NFTs during the reproduction process.

Running on the Polygon, the game is a blockchain-based NFT game featuring ERC-721 NFTs and not standard ERC-20 tokens. The game incorporates strategic gameplay. The game is designed in a way that enables replicating and creating unique NFTs.

MicroBuddies gameplay

While playing the game, you will see each replication spawn a new next-gen «MicroBuddy» with unique traits and improved GOO production. You can use GOO to evolve or multiply your MicroBuddies into unique and rare NFTs.

The more unique and rare your NFT is, the more valuable it will be, as the rare ones produce more GOO and have more uncommon features.

Integrating Chainlink VRF

Chainlink VRF | Provably Fair Random Number Generator

MicroBuddies says that they had many options when choosing a random number generator. They went through each proposal they received and decided to go with the best one; Chainlink VRF. Thanks to its cutting-edge academic research and timeless support by a time-tested oracle network, MicroBuddies believes that this platform works with cryptographic proofs, and each random number generated proves its integrity.

Chainlink VRF provides us with a secure, reliable, and verifiable way to help randomly assign traits to MicroBuddies NFTs. We want our players to feel confident that the process is fair and transparent, and Chainlink VRF helps us provide them with this assurance.

MicroBuddies CEO

Chainlink VRF is a highly secure and provably fair source of on-chain randomness for all blockchain-based applications, NFTs, and games. Random Number Generation (RNG) is a mechanism for unpredictability. With this technology, even the oracle provider or the project developers can’t tamper the outcome.
