Last February, KRAFTON (the developer of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS) partnered with Naver Z to create their own NFT universe. A year later, it was revealed that its development had already cost the companies ₩48 billion, or about $36.8 million.

The companies claim that the project, called Migaloo, will be “revolutionary” and a “game changer.” Users can add their content to the metaverse and earn money by selling it using blockchain. The companies plan to launch Migaloo by the end of the year.

Side note: Blockchain games raised $739 million in investment

KRAFTON’s experience in game development and publishing will be critical to equipping the platform with creator tools and features. At the same time, Naver Z will lead planning, partnerships, and acquisitions as the joint venture develops. The Korean Internet giant also has extensive experience creating metaverse projects, having created Asia’s largest metaverse platform, ZEPETO.
