Former Need for Speed developers from Criterion Games have founded a new project called Fuse Games. The company was founded after five executives left EA last December.

A side note: Blizzard expats have set up Gas Giant Games

The team currently consists of 17 people, although Matt Webster, CEO of Fuse Games, is unsure what that final number will look like and is actively recruiting new staff at the moment.

Obviously, arcade racing and open-world games are something we know very deeply. But over the years we have worked in other genres, including Battlefront, Battlefield. We know what we’re good at, and that covers a wide range of things now. Once we choose our genre, we want to be leaders in it.

The team is already in development for their debut game, which will be a AAA-format game for console and PC. It is not known for sure, however, whether this game will match the projects that Criterion Games has released in the past.
