Facebook will end support for the Facebook Gaming app in October. The company said some features would be moved to the main Facebook app.

Beginning Oct. 28, 2022, the iOS and Android apps will no longer be available. The team sincerely thanks users for creating a thriving community of gamers.

The app was a platform where fans followed their favourite streamers or interacted with the game’s official social media pages. The platform also allowed for the purchase of mobile games.

In December 2021, Voodoo added five hyper-casual games to Facebook Gaming, but the partnership didn’t last long. Previously, Meta had also invested in the project and entered into agreements with major content creators from Twitch and YouTube, which also proved futile.

Today, Meta Gaming Productions is focused on VR and the use of that technology in the meta-universe.
