Capcom, the Japanese developer and publisher of computer games, has published its report for the previous fiscal year, which ended on 31 March this year. The results are very impressive.
A side note: Konami’s annual revenue reach $2.3 billion
The studio sold $930.5 million worth of its products last year, up 14.4% from the same period in the previous fiscal year. Net income for the company was nearly $272 million, which is also a 12.9% increase.
Most importantly and most interestingly, Capcom broke its own records for the tenth consecutive year in terms of profit growth, as well as net sales volume.
The game studio also set a record for the number of copies sold during the last year, which reached 41.7 million copies, the best-selling titles being Resident Evil 4 Remake (3.75 million copies) and MH Rise: Sunbreak (5.45 million copies).
Such results had a positive effect on Capcom’s stock, which rose nearly 1,000 yen (about $8). With upcoming plans and the launch of several new games, there is a very good chance that the new fiscal year will again be a record year for the studio.
